ABOUT PAMELA STAKER

Pamela Staker’s abstractions are built on the colors and textures she encounters living in Chicago being filtered through her memories of growing up in a small town. Her paintings are defined by the limitations of her body where the strokes and path of her hand are the guides. This free flowing movement is underscored by her interplay of colors. Often lines will form boundaries, but the colors will drip over, or bleed under. For Staker, the colors move beyond each painting and connect her abstractions together.

Staker received her BFA from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Painting. Pamela Staker’s work has been shown across the United States in New York, Chicago, Virginia, and Tennessee. She lives and works in Chicago.
