ABOUT RAUL DE LA TORRE
Raul de la Torre's abstractions first start as traditional paintings, followed by him cutting holes into the canvas and mending them with color matched embroidery thread. His methods of painting address the persistent formal questions of line and color, while also considering what it means to mend a textile and rebuild a pattern.
His work has been displayed internationally in Berlin, Barcelona, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York. Raul de la Torre is a member of LACMA Art Council and the Los Angeles Art Association.
