Through a puzzle-like assembly of pieces, Ruth Aizuss Migdal builds layers and organic contours that transform our understanding of the female form. Working primarily in bronze and ceramic, Migdal focuses on developing classic sculpture materials into her visions. Migdal’s forms are visceral, impressionistic, and employ a variety of marks in the round and on their surfaces. These techniques produce a sculpture which has expression both in the round and on each plane.

Ruth Aizuss Migdal’s work is in the collections of the Krannert Museum of Art and Koehnline Museum of Art. She has exhibited her work across the United States in museums and galleries, as well as commissioned for numerous public art installations.
